Goals:
- Personal Meetings of the partners in the EU Kaleidoscope Project. The triennale is based on a partnership between four Photographic Centres in four European Cities. From each of these Partners we have an exhibition in our Centre during the year 1999 and the symposium should be the place to introduce the partners to each other. - Exchange of informations and plans for future cooperation. Most of the institutiones act on a local and an international sphere and as everybody nows, it is easier to do plans in cooperation especially if the budget is limited. - Introduction of a Finnish exchange exhibition. We will organize in Tampere some atelier visits so that you might get an idea of what kind of artists / photographers aree living around Tampere. - Lectures and presentations about contemporary artphotography in different European regions. To the lectures, beside our own clients, we have invited representatives of art assoziationes, artschools, highschools, galleries and photographic centres in Finland. Also students from art and media departements, EU exchange students and regional artists are invited to the event. |

The Workshop | 22.- 24.10.99 - Tampere University
"Documents and Identities "
|
The workshop was dedicated to MA students of Electronic
Photojournalism Programme at the University of Tampere. The workshop was
run by the British photographer Daniel Meadows.
Daniel Meadows has done a bus project in the early 1970s, travelling in a converted double-decker bus which doubled as home and photo-gallery. Meadows criss-crossed England making pictures of the "ordinary British". He photographed the same people in the 1990s. (exhibition) |
