Artists in residence

For three artists, Albin Biblom, Daniela Cojbuc and Jan von Holleben, Backlight 08 offers a 10-days-residence in the rural Finnish countryside area of the Voipaala Art Centre, which is about 35 km in the east of Tampere near the city of Valkeakoski.

The farmyard, manor with one main and several smaller wooden side-buildings, has been transformed into a place for art and culture.

The Centre offers:
- three guests-rooms for the artists,
- a kitchen (there is a cafeteria but no restaurant nearby),
- a room with fireside
- a small black/white darkroom.

A bus-connection is to Tampere and also to Valkeakoski and Helsinki.

The centre will host a part of the Backlight 08 exhibition and it is in close contact with an art school for children.

The residence starts at September 17th and ends at September 28th 2008.
