In den letzten 15 Jahren hat sich die Welt - und mit ihr das Leben jeder/s einzelnen - so radikal und so schnell verändert wie noch nie zuvor. Oft habe ich das Gefühl, mit einem Bein in der "alten" Welt meiner Kindheit zu stehen und mit dem anderen Bein in der schönen "neuen" vernetzten Welt der postindustriellen Gegenwart. Dazwischen ist nichts; keine Gemeinsamkeit; ein Abgrund. Mein linkes Bein weiß nicht, wo das rechte steht.

Unsere Stand-Punkte scheinen wirklich absurd, unsere Flucht-Perspektiven zunehmend virtuell. Humor kann ein Werkzeug sein, ein Mittel zur Überwindung der Furcht, die uns lähmt; indem er uns hinweist auf die Abgründe, über denen wir stehen; und indem er uns, augenzwinkernd, zu verstehen gibt, dass solche Positionen durchaus normal sind im Leben.

Within the last 15 years the world - and along with it the life of every single individual - has changed more dramatically and quickly than ever before. I often have the feeling to have one foot in the "old" world of my childhood and the other one in the brave "new" holistic world of today. In between: nothing; no common ground; an abyss. My left foot knows nothing about the base of my right foot.

Our stand-points look absurd, our perspectives more and more virtual. Humor can be a tool or a mean to overcome our fear of this; by pointing out the abyss between our legs; and by insinuating - tongue in cheek - that such a position is absolutely normal in life.
