“Beltsville, Maryland“ is a slide installation about the suburb in USA where I grew up.

The installation consists of two slide projectors next to each other:

one projecting large pictures, and one projecting short sentences.

The biographical short sentences describe my life growing up in this lower middle class American suburban neighborhood . The anonymous pictures of various places in Beltsville were all taken by my mother.

”Beltsville, Maryland” on diainstallaatio lähiöstä, jossa kasvoin.

Installaatio koostuu kahdesta rinnakkain olevasta projektorista:

Toinen projektori heijastaa isokokoisia kuvia, toinen lyhyitä lauseita.

Omaelämäkerralliset lyhyet lauseet kuvaavat varttumistani tässä alemman keskiluokan lähiössä. Nimettömät kuvat Beltsvillen eri paikoista ovat äitini ottamia.
