The "Found Project" deals with the psychic situation when the past is the update of memories in the present. Its themes are the great themes of our century, emigration, war, and expulsion… translated into a photographic language.

Photos are like an external memory for us. They function as an index.

Photos are pictures of time, which cause contemporary witnesses. Photos are fragments, which fit together, like a puzzle, a map of thinking about a certain region or time. Photos are re-presentation of historical heritage.

Working with found-footage material is like photography of history.”

”Found Project” käsittelee sitä psyykkistä tilannetta, kun menneisyys koostuu nykyhetken päivittämistä muistoista. Sen teemoja ovat vuosisatamme suuret teemat: siirtolaisuus, sota ja maasta karkotus...valokuviksi muunnettuina.

Valokuvat ovat kuin ulkopuolinen muisti. Ne toimivat hakemistona.

Valokuvat ovat kuvia ajasta, jonka silminnäkijöitä me olemme omana aikanamme. Valokuvat ovat sirpaleita, jotka sopivat toisiinsa kuten palapelin palat. Ne ovat kartoittavat tiettyyn paikkaan tai aikaan liittyviä ajatuksia. Kuvilla esitämme uudelleen historiallista perintöämme.

Löydetyillä kuvilla työskentely on kuin historian valokuvaamista.”
